Wedding Pics!

Hello everyone!  I'm baaack! :)  It's now 2 days after our daughter's wedding and I'm happy to say that all went very well.  The weather was amazing, especially considering we live in Canada and our weather hasn't been the greatest.  Saturday was the best weather in a few weeks - sunny and mild (8C), virtually no wind and still snow on the ground.  The photos will look wonderful!

It was a very busy time prior to the wedding but DD and her now-husband did most of the planning and we just filled in the gaps.  Everyone stayed cool with each other and we really had a joyful celebration that went off without any hitches.  We are so thankful!  We now have a son-in-law! :)

Two weeks before the wedding DD18 and I came down with the stomach flu.  It was NOT in the plans!  Thankfully our daughter who got married had already had the flu (about two weeks before we got it) and she did not get sick again.  DD18 and I were literally in bed for 3 days almost straight!

It has been strange to only have one "child" (she's 18) living at home now but DH and DD18 took today off of work and we had a little re-grouping day.  It was nice - we went to do some leisure shopping and even checked out a new Target store that has come to Ontario (the first Target stores arrived here just last week and so far there are only three).

Tomorrow will be a very odd day as I will be home alone when DH and DD go back to work.  I hope to get back into my walking.

my man and me!
We completed our fostering home inspections - we ended up having to do a few more things before we got final approval, mainly because we have water in our backyard (a natural spring-fed stream) and no fences in our yard.  We put alarms on both of our doors.  This won't be necessary to use for an infant, but since some infants stay in care for extended periods of time and become mobile, Children's Aid wanted this in place.  Of course we complied.  So now everything is in place and we are waiting for "the call".  I have to admit that I'm thankful that they didn't call today and I wouldn't mind if they didn't call all this week either ... I haven't visited my mom in 2 weeks so I'd like to visit her this week and I've got plans to take my neighbour to a surgery follow-up appointment too.  And I need to get this house in order again - laundry to be done and tidying to be done.  DD hasn't totally moved out yet and I'd like to get her old bedroom tidied up a bit before she returns from her honeymoon.

We'll see how these plans work out!

(we're related eh?! lol)
I missed my last TOPS meeting (just before the wedding) but my weight was down the previous week (after the flu).  I didn't try to lose over the wedding celebration - just tried to stay on trackWill let you know how I did after my meeting on Friday, DV.

Dad's wedding speech -
the first time I cried,
second time was at SIL's dad's speech
The wedding photos here are just the candid ones that we took over the course of the day.  They had a professional photographer and I'm sure her pics will be wonderful!

Missed y'all!

It is good to hear from you. I was thinking just yesterday that it was about time for the wedding. I'm glad all went well. I'm looking forward to hearing more about your progress down the scales and life with a foster baby.

Congratulations on what looks like a beautiful wedding! Your daughter was just beautiful. Love the cinched top on her gown. Your dress was beautiful, too. You are looking great! You must be so proud. And very soon a grandma. Wow, life is good for you!
